Highway 550 is a long highway set among the New Mexican desert, in between towns and mountains. Along it and among it lay desert dwelling dogs, coyote, and lobos alike.
Here is a welcome message, information on joining, information on creating a character, and just a general place for new or curious people.

Many years ago, a hound known as El Viejo was abandoned by his Upwalkers. He was forced to live alone among the desert, turned away by his brothers, the Lobo and the Coyote. He learned ways of obtaining water, where to look for food, and began a pack that would offer safety and haven to dogs who met a similar fate to his... as long as they were willing to serve the pack and follow his law.
Present day, years past his death and his time, his pack and legacy still runs free among La Tierra, a territory just off of Highway 550, the same territory he made claim to so long ago. They seek shelter among an abandoned ranch known as Shantyplace. Read about the pack's lore and information here.

After a recent revolt in the pack of Los Sabuesos, El Estrago formed. It is a pack with the sole intention of creating a strong and pure pack that they believe Los Sabuesos should have been. Many dogs who feel they have been rejected by Los Sabuesos for their wolf or coyote mixed blood often dwell here, but any strong dog may dwell within their ranks, any dog willing to face trials and prove themselves to their highers. It is a pack for those who really wish to have a life of purpose, power, and purity. El Estrago dogs believe in creating a new breed of hound fit for their surroundings. They struggle to share territory with lobo and coyote alike, and they take shelter among an abandoned desert Mine known as Dead Dog's Mine.

An expansive family of lobos dwells among a territory the dogs refer to as Rabid Ridge, but of course the lobos refer to it as Red Ridge.
Ravaging to those who threaten them, but loving to one another, the pack of Red Ridge dominates the area. They've survived many years for a reason; they are strong, they are cold, and they care for their own. You can read some information about the Red Ridgers here. Every user is allowed one Red Ridge wolf.
