[PHYSICAL AND MENTAL INFORMATION]
Body type: The nature of a Kangal shepherd dog sees that Captain is a tall, muscular and athletic male. Despite his young age, his ever growing size predicts that of a formidably strong adult. Bred to take on prey larger than himself and risk his life in protecting livestock, Captain is a dog who definitely knows his own strength, and, although his fighting skills are still clumsy and inexperienced, isn’t afraid to show it off to anyone who stands in his way.
Weight: 30 kg (66 lbs) - will be 68 kg (150 lbs) when mature, if healthy
Height: 60 cm (24”) - will be 90 cm (34”) when mature, if healthy
Physical description: Captain is a lightly furred dog, with a pale all-round colour around his torso, legs and tail. Very dark brown markings cover his muzzle, brows and ears, while two subtle spots can be seen on both of his cheeks. He has a black nose, and equally dark greeny-brown eyes. His head is rounded and robust, with floppy ears and smoothly rounded, almost square muzzle. The male has a thick, medium-length coat, lanky legs and an arched tail.
Current injury(ies): None
Scars: 2
Puncture wounds on left ear (Carolina, Sherman)
Bite marks on right foreleg (Sherman)
Current mood(s): Defiant, smug
Current dreams/nightmares: Dreams of his mother, nightmares of Los Sabuesos hunting him down
Mental health: 80%
Physical health: 75% - caused by: previous undernourishment and injuries - recovering swiftly due to eating and resting regularly.
Current illness(es): None
Personality: Stubborn and proud, Captain is a dog who rarely listens to anyone else but himself. His headstrong, impulsive attitude boasts itself the most when confronted by just about anything, or anyone. Captain, when untroubled, remains a seriously spoken and reserved dog, but at times his young ages encourages him to be playful - his idea of fun is usually pretty rough, as he used to enjoy play fighting with his siblings.
His lack of constant sympathy, general courtesy and ‘think before you act’ logic comes across as cold or stoic, but Captain isn't completely heartless. He is deeply sensitive towards treasured dogs and fiercely protective of them, too, even if he is slightly awkward at showing or accepting affection. To anyone else, however, he is bold, hardy and defiant.
Recently, the young dog is becoming noticeably arrogant, hot-tempered and irrationally rude - pent up spite and frustration, due to both his young age and difficult life, seems to be rapidly changing Captain’s outlook and attitude. Due to this, his popularity is far lower than he would like to admit, but he remains proud, knowing the history of his family will ‘justify’ anything bad he does - in his eyes, anyway.
Emotional statuses: Traumatised after defending and burying his mother’s decaying corpse after it was left to rot by the Sabuesos, Captain is very slow to trust and even slower to love, in fear that the ones he cares for will be snatched away once again.
Due to most of his family having been torn from him at a very young age by the dogs he once trusted with his life, Captain suffers with constant grief and rage. It is hard for him to deal with such strong emotions whilst not knowing how to fully control them, and so he is prone to lashing out irrationally, and being very impatient and bitter towards others.

[HISTORY]
Once reaching the water source, Carolina decides to take him on a tricky trek to Caidos Rock where Captain regretfully learns of what happens to dogs there. He feels a sense of dread upon its terrible smell and even worse sights; he begins to internally doubt some of the questionable methods of his fellow dogs..
After a both physically and mentally draining journey, Captain Carolina, and Finnikin return the now full bucket home, the young Kangal’s mouth numb from its surprising heavy weight. He settles besides his leader, feeling proud upon having gained new knowledge. Captain is both shocked and delighted when the male offers for him to become his blood-brother, and continue his training with Carolina instead of his dear mother, who, along with Captain, has two blood-siblings. He quickly agrees, imagining the strong and feared dog he would one day become under his leader’s eye. Tired from his eventful day, Captain wanders off and finds a quiet spot to nap.
A few days had passed since his trip with Carolina; It was another uneventful morning when Captain had finished his early patrol around the Shanty’s territory and returned to his mother’s side to spend some time with her while it was quiet. He proudly informed her of Carolina’s request to become his blood brother, to which Masienna pretended to be proud of. A friend of his mother’s - Fedele, an older Sabuesos member - politely interrupts the conversation, and the three calmly converse under the hot sun. Fedele sparks a fire of inspiration in Captain with his wise words of the pack’s history and faith in its future. A stray, stern voice loudly insults the conversation, proudly stating its disbelief. It was Aster, a wolf-dog that Captain didn’t know before, but instantly disliked. Captain snapped at Fedele once he had made his way out of earshot, moaning about how unfaithful, half-breed members should even be allowed in the group. Fedele corrects the young dog, informing him that he should never judge a dog just because of their breed. Captain sulks off.
While he was guarding the Shanty’s entrance, Finnikin rushed in and informed his fellow dogs of coyotes at the Station, an upwalker landmark a fair distance from his home. Captain immediately followed Carolina and others in a patrol to the ‘coyotes’, eager to finally prove himself to his leader and fellow dogs... only for them to discover that no coyotes were to be seen. Instead, he would discover his own mother attacking another Sabuesos! Captain’s heart sunk as he thoughtlessly ran over, shouting at the two to stop in fear that he would hurt Masienna if he intervened. The fight soon stopped, and Captain gawked at his mother in disbelief as the remaining patrol caught up, and sentenced Masienna to El Acabado. The utterly confused young male struggled and yelled desperately at his mother to run while he was guided away, pleading to his pack mates not to hurt her.
Captain had spent countless days of hiding from the group in fear of what he would discover about his mother. Was she dead? His heart almost burst at the thought - he couldn’t bear to know. His head still spun in bewilderment… what had she been doing, attacking another Sabuesos? There must have been a reason, he trusted his own beloved mother would never do something so thoughtless.
Fedele discovered the malnourished and skittish Captain, and explained the truth of the situation: Masienna was the clouded face behind multiple recent murders in the pack, and had been murdered by for her crimes. He stubbornly refused to believe the old male, too grief-stricken to face the reality concerning his mother. But Fedele persisted to the blinded male - Maseinna was dead. Flooded with dread and despair, he fled from the old dog, yelling at him to stay away. He wanted nothing more to escape the truth, and the ones that had killed almost all of his family! It wasn’t long before Captain succumbed to the desert sun and fainted due to heat exhaustion. Fedele carried the young dog back to camp, where he spent days barely speaking to anyone, and refusing any food or water they offered him. His once unbreakable faith in the Sabuesos had faded into a vengeful, bitter spite. How could he trust them now, after what they had done to him, to his family?! There was no way he could live the rest of his days here, not anymore.
After days of being tormented by judgemental glances and spiteful whispers, Captain had had enough. Perhaps his mother had been right - they had taken so much from her, it was only fair she gave them what they deserved! In a fit of blind fury, he lunged at his leader, Carolina, who, with the help of the chihuahua Sherman, fought back in an effort to stop the raging male. His ex-blood brother proceeded to banish the young male. Captain stormed away, swearing to himself that one day, when he grew to be stronger, he would get his revenge.
Days of wandering from the group crossed Captain’s path with Mariana in Rabid Ridge, a former friend of his mother. Captain was initially weary of the stranger at first, but soon informed her of Masienna’s death once he decided she is an ally. The female, dismayed at the news, comforted Captain, and proceeded to explain why she and her mother had committed such crimes that had lead to her untimely death. With everything fitting together like a puzzle, the young male finally understood, and felt a deep guilt knowing that, all this time, he had been helpless in his mother’s quest. That instead of joining his family’s side, he had been too ambitious in making the Sabuesos proud of him. He had only slowly been overcoming his grief only to be drowned by it once again in a sorrowful embrace with the understanding Mariana. She kindly offered for the young male to stay with her, to which Captain gratefully accepts. She leads him to an abandoned den where the two share a rabbit, and Captain falls asleep that night, accepting that, for now, this life is better than one lived in regret within the rusted gates of Shantyplace.
(i'm sorry if this all seems sloppy i'm still fleshing this out)
- after living out in the ridge for weeks, captain meets aster and dmitri (who’s he’s met before on a hunt) and they talk to him about el estrago, captain leaves with an offer of joining
- he then sees apollo, and after sharing a sad moment with the dog, realises that joining is the right thing to do for masienna's sake. He and mariana find the mines, and join.
- jhon and captain find a trespasser on the territory who had been staying there for a few days; after the female refused to act accordingly to the two, they kill her.
-captain returns to the den, his mind full of dark thoughts after his first kill. He is then disturbed by the pup jugjaw, and the two have an interesting interaction of which apollo breaks up shortly after mild insults turn into harsh bullying from captain and jugjaw alike.
- captain is awoken by jugjaw being pressured by santos to knock down a wooden pillar in the mines; after waking into a grumpy mood, captain rudely assists santos and proceeds to bully jugjaw, causing the upset pup to run off. Santos approached captain and tells him off for his cruel behaviour, and is enraged by his attitude when the young kangal refuses to apologise and instead argues back. Frustrated, captain runs off, finding a quiet area in the mines to let his anger cool off.

[HISTORY]
Captain, alongside his brother Carver, were born to their mother within Los Sabuesos - he was never able to meet his father and other sibling, since they had been died before he had been born. He lead a proud life besides his beloved family, naturally becoming both passionately protective of them and his fellow Sabuesos dogs. As Captain gradually learnt of his pack’s strange laws and the reasons for his family’s deaths, he would internally begin to doubt them; the young male never entirely lost faith in them, though. How could he, after they had raised and cared for him and his family? Soon enough, however, the truth would become clear to the oblivious male, and he would be challenged between his seemingly undying loyalty to the Sabuesos, and his love for his family.
